Last night, 15 fathers came together for our Volunteer Community Networking Session to tackle one of the most pressing challenges facing families in Singapore today — the rise of K-Pods and drug-laced vaping among our youth.

What began as a planned one-hour conversation stretched to 1 hour and 20 minutes, a sign of how deeply the issue resonated with those present. Guided by our shared purpose, we focused on equipping fathers to:
🔍 Recognize the signs of K-Pod use and understand its dangers.
⚖️ Grasp the legal, health, and social consequences facing youth who experiment with vaping.
🗣️ Build confidence in having meaningful, non-judgmental conversations with their children.
👨👧 Reaffirm their role as protectors, guides, and safe spaces for their families.

Key Learnings from the Night
The session was rich with insights and personal sharing. Many fathers acknowledged they had only a vague idea of what K-Pods were before the session — but they left with a much clearer understanding of both the risks and the urgent need to respond.
Some of the main takeaways included:
This is not only a youth problem, but a family issue that requires presence and dialogue at home.
Fathers play a critical role in setting boundaries, listening with empathy, and guiding with firmness.
The fight is not a one-time effort; it is a continuous journey of awareness, vigilance, and open communication.
Moving Forward Together
While the evening was successful and most of the objectives were met, the work continues. The real test lies beyond the session — in how fathers choose to engage their children and build trust so that difficult conversations can take place.
The message is clear: every father needs to know, understand, and act on the dangers and consequences of K-Pods. It is only through presence, patience, and persistence that we can protect our children from this silent but growing threat.
At BapaHebatSG, we remain committed to walking this journey alongside fathers — not just by providing knowledge, but by building a supportive community where fathers can learn, share, and grow together.
