TehTarik With Dads 1: Inspire & Empower: A Fatherhood Story with Anas Abdullah

Updated: Sep 7

On 15 February 2025, we hosted a very special edition of Teh Tarik with Dads at The Foundry, Prinsep Link. This session carried the theme “Inspire & Empower” and featured the emotional and heartfelt fatherhood journey of Anas Abdullah, a renowned celebrity fashion designer from Malaysia.

The discussion topic, “Nak Buang Anak Syurga”, touched the hearts of everyone present. It reminded us of the silent struggles many families face, particularly when raising children with special needs or navigating life’s unexpected challenges.

Anas’s sharing was not just about his success in the fashion world—it was about vulnerability, resilience, and faith as a father. He spoke about the trials he endured, the lessons he learned, and the unwavering love that shaped his journey as a parent.

Hearing his words, many fathers and mothers in the room could relate deeply. It was a powerful reminder that while every child is unique, every father’s role is equally crucial: to guide, to love, and to persevere even when the road is difficult.

Why Sessions Like This Matter

At BapaHebatSG, we believe that stories inspire action. When fathers share openly, they give courage to others who may be struggling silently. Dialogues like these break down the barriers of shame and isolation, and replace them with hope, connection, and empowerment.

The presence of both mothers and fathers at this session showed that parenting is a shared journey. Conversations on tough topics—whether about raising a “special child” or handling challenges that test our patience—are not just for fathers to shoulder alone, but for families to embrace together.

A Community That Walks Together

This Teh Tarik with Dads was more than an event—it was a reminder of the power of community. By coming together, listening to stories like Anas’s, and sharing our own, we learn that none of us are alone.

We are stronger as fathers when we stand together, inspired by each other’s journeys, and empowered to make small but lasting changes in our homes.

Looking Ahead

As we continue with future Teh Tarik sessions, we invite more fathers (and mothers too) to join us. Each session is a chance to grow, to connect, and to remember why fatherhood matters so much—not just to our children, but to society as a whole.

Because when fathers are present, inspired, and empowered, families thrive.
