“I Thought I Had Things Covered—Until I Heard Another Father’s Story.”

That was one of the reflections shared by a father at today’s final session of Fathering Journey 101 (Session 2).

Seven fathers graduated today.Different ages. Different life journeys. Different family realities.Yet for two weeks, they chose to show up—consistently, intentionally, and with humility.
What stood out was not just the content delivered, but what happened between the fathers.
Participants spoke about:
Gaining new perspectives they did not expect
Learning from men of different backgrounds without judgment
Being reminded that growth as a father is never “complete”
Feeling safe enough to share personal life experiences—and be heard
One father shared that even when you think you have things under control, listening to another father’s journey can change how you see your own. Another reflected on how the sessions reinforced gratitude, reflection, and the importance of being present—not just physically, but emotionally.
The appreciation extended beyond the programme itself:
Gratitude for facilitators who guided discussions with wisdom and steadiness
Recognition of the backbone and support team that made the journey possible
Respect for fellow participants who were courageous and generous in sharing their lived experiences
What we witnessed today was not a “training session” in the conventional sense.
It was a pause for reflection. A reset of intentions. And a reminder that fatherhood is not a solo journey.
Fathering Journey 101 asks for something precious—time. But as today’s graduates demonstrated, it is time well invested.
Because when fathers grow, families feel it.And when fathers learn together, communities become stronger.
To the seven fathers who completed this journey—thank you for your trust, openness, and commitment.
