Raikan Ilmu 2026: Celebrating Fathers, Family and Learning.

The past weekend (13th and 14th June) was a meaningful and memorable one for BapaHebat SG as we participated in the Raikan Ilmu 2026 event at Our Tampines Hub organised by MENDAKI.

Over two vibrant days, we had the privilege of engaging hundreds of fathers, mothers, children, and members of the community through activities that celebrated fatherhood, family bonding, and lifelong learning.

Our booth quickly became a gathering point for families. One of the highlights was the Father's Day Card activity, where children were invited to create personalised cards for their fathers. Armed with colouring materials, markers, and plenty of creativity, children expressed their love and appreciation through heartfelt messages and colourful artwork.

What began as a simple activity soon became a powerful reminder of the importance of appreciation and connection within families. Throughout the weekend, we witnessed many touching moments as children proudly presented their completed cards to their fathers.

A key highlight of the weekend was our Teh Tarik with Dads session held on Saturday afternoon. Facilitated by Dr Mohamad Shamsuri Juhari, the session brought together fathers and community members for an engaging discussion on fatherhood and family life.

Participants enjoyed meaningful conversations while sharing teh tarik and local refreshments in a warm and welcoming environment.

Events such as Raikan Ilmu remind us that fatherhood is not a journey that fathers undertake alone. It takes a community to support strong families, and it is through conversations, learning opportunities, shared experiences, and simple moments of connection that stronger fathers and stronger families are built.

The success of the weekend would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, partners, supporters, and the many families who stopped by our booth, participated in our activities, and attended our programmes. Their energy, enthusiasm, and commitment transformed the event into a celebration of family, learning, and community spirit.

As we reflect on the weekend, we are encouraged by the many conversations, connections, and new friendships formed. We look forward to continuing our mission of supporting fathers and strengthening families through our upcoming programmes and community initiatives.
