With gratitude and humility, we are pleased to share that BapaHebat SG Limited was officially registered as a charity in Singapore on 7 August 2026.
This is a meaningful milestone for us. However, we do not see it as a destination or an achievement that belongs to us alone. We see it as a greater responsibility entrusted to us—to serve fathers, strengthen families and contribute to the wider community.

Our journey has been shared
BapaHebatSG began with a simple belief: when fathers are supported in their journey, their children, families and communities can become stronger.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of walking alongside fathers from different backgrounds. Some wanted to communicate better with their children. Some were rebuilding relationships after difficult experiences. Others were simply looking for a safe space to learn, reflect and grow with fellow fathers.
Through programmes such as Fathering BootCamp, Fathering 101, the Fathering Community Network, TehTarik with Dads and our work with fathers in prison, we have witnessed many quiet but meaningful changes.
These changes may not always be visible to the public. Sometimes, they begin with a father listening more patiently, apologising to his child, writing a heartfelt letter or deciding to be more present at home.
To us, these small steps matter.
What charity status means to us
Being registered as a charity gives BapaHebatSG formal recognition as an organisation serving the public good. It may also open new opportunities to work with community partners, funders and volunteers.
More importantly, charity status calls us to a higher standard of stewardship.
We are accountable for how we use the funds, time and trust given to us. Our resources must remain focused on our charitable purposes:
supporting fathers in their fathering journey;
creating platforms for fathers to learn, network and share; and
raising awareness of the importance of a father’s presence.
We must continue strengthening our governance, financial management, programme quality and measurement of impact. We know that receiving charity status does not mean that we have arrived. In many ways, the real work is only beginning.
Charity status is also different from Institution of a Public Character, or IPC, status. BapaHebatSG is not yet an IPC, so donations made directly to us are not currently eligible for tax deduction. We will share further updates should this change in the future.
A milestone made possible by many
We are deeply thankful to our Board members, staff, volunteers, facilitators and supporters who have given their time, skills and encouragement.
We are also grateful to our programme partners, donors and community organisations that believed in the importance of supporting fathers. Your trust has enabled us to reach fathers in prisons and in the community, and to create spaces where they can learn without fear of judgement.
Most of all, we thank the fathers who allowed us to be part of their journey. Their honesty, courage and willingness to grow continue to inspire our work.
We also recognise the patience and support of their spouses, children and families. Fathering is never a journey taken alone.
Moving forward with humility
As BapaHebatSG enters this new chapter, our commitment remains simple: to listen, to learn and to serve.
We will continue working towards a society where fathers feel supported rather than judged, where children experience the presence and care of their fathers, and where families have greater hope for the future.
There is still much for us to improve. We welcome the guidance, partnership and support of those who share this vision.
May this charity status remind us not of how far we have come, but of the trust we must now carry with greater care.
Together, let us continue supporting fathers and strengthening families—one father, one child and one family at a time.
